Rivers State High Court bombed

The political crisis rocking Rivers State took a dangerous dimension on Monday as an explosive, suspected to be a bomb, rocked a state High Court, Ahoada.

No casualty had been reported as of the time of filing this report.

The case of contempt of court against Mr. Evans Bipi, the leader of the group of six lawmakers in the state House of Assembly, loyal to the Supervisory Minister of Education, Mr. Nyisom Wike, was slated to be heard.

In spite of the order of the court, Bipi is reported to still be parading himself as the authentic Speaker of the Rivers House of Assembly.

Meanwhile, two Senior Advocates of Nigeria, Mr. Yusuf Ali and Mr. Adeniyi Akintola, have condemned the burning of a High Court in Ahaoda, Rivers State.

In separate telephone interviews with our correspondent in Ilorin on Monday, they warned against a recurrence.

Ali, who is the Chairman, Anti-Corruption Commission, Nigerian Bar Association, urged security agencies to apprehend the culprits and ensure that the full weight of the law was brought to bear on the perpetrators, if the act was intentional.

“I strongly condemn the act if it was deliberate. I condemn it with every fibre in me. The security agencies should go after the perpetrators if it was intentional. If it is arson, then we must get to the root of it,” Ali said.

Akintola appealed to the political class to avoid over-heating the polity.

He warned that nothing should be done to jeorpardise the nation’s democracy and inhibit judicial activities and quick dispensation of justice.

Akintola said, “The burning of the court is highly despicable and condemnable. I condemn it in all its entirety.

“I want to appeal to the political class to be very careful. Some of us fought and put our lives on the line for this democracy.

“It is quite unfortunate that some of those who had no iota of contribution or know the geography of any detention camp are the ones reaping the benefits. They have to be very careful.”

The Truth About “Healthy” Vegetable Oils

What’s Wrong with “Vegetable” Oils
These vegetable oils (which are really seed oils) are unstable and, when heated, turn into trans fats. Trans fats have been shown to cause brain atrophy as well as heart disease, cancer, obesity, and diabetes. Trans fats are also found in processed foods that say “hydrogenated” or “partially hydrogenated” on the label.

They are so detrimental to overall health that they have been banned in some areas and even some countries (Iceland, Sweden, Austria). Last year, they were banned in New York City and in November the FDA announced that they are considering banning trans fats in the form of hydrogenated oils.

They are a main source of unhealthy omega-6 fatty acids which contribute to chronic inflammation. If you have allergies or anything that ends in “itis” (i.e., arthritis, dermatitis, colitis), you have inflammation. Chronic inflammation is a contributor to seven of the top ten causes of death: heart disease, cancer, chronic lower respiratory disease, stroke, Alzheimer’s, diabetes, and nephritis.

Currently we consume an average of 9% of our calories from these oils. Omega-6 toxicity begins at 4% intake. So most of us need to cut back their intake by at least 60% to be in the healthy range of 2-3%.

The Truth About Canola Oil
Many consumers believe canola oil is healthy because it is monounsaturated like olive oil, but few people realize exactly what they are consuming. There is no “canola plant”.  Canola stands for “Canadian oil low acid” and comes from a genetically engineered form of rapeseed subsidized by the Canadian government. The name change was a PR move due to the bad connotation of the word rapeseed.

A major way canola differs from olive oil is that it’s not cold-pressed. It’s typically extracted with high heat, pressure, and chemical solvents which lead to the formation of trans fats. This ubiquitous oil is one you should definitely avoid.

Still not convinced? Here’s a quick look at how canola oil is manufactured. You’ll see the process is anything but “natural”.

Avoiding unhealthy vegetable oils is harder than it sounds. Look at the labels on processed or prepared foods, condiments, baked goods, and snack items. You’ll find these fats lurk in almost everything, even many foods from the health food store.

While avoiding unhealthy oils will be tough, I think you’ll like what I’m going to tell you next. There are three healthy fats you should stock in your kitchen – extra virgin olive oil, coconut oil, and, of all things, butter!

Olive Oil – Buyer Beware
Olive oil has been used medicinally for over 5,000 years. Its health benefits are legendary. Olive oil is a major component of the Mediterranean diet and is believed to be a factor why people in that part of the world are some of the healthiest and long-lived.

Olive oil has been found to boost the immune system, increase bone density, prevent cancer, strokes, and heart disease, lower blood pressure, and reduce your risk of diabetes. There’s evidence that olive oil can improve memory and increase overall cognitive function.

There is a caveat about using olive oil, however. Much of the store-bought extra virgin olive oil is fake! Cheap and unhealthy soy or canola oils are colored with industrial chlorophyll and flavored with artificial flavorings.

Fake olive oil is a huge business around the world – in the Europe, Australia, the US, and even China.

Olive oil is great to use “as is” but should not be heated. It burns at a very low temperature producing trans fats.

Coconut – the Healthy Oil with a Bad Reputation
Coconut oil is a very healthy fat that has an undeserved bad reputation. While it does contain saturated fat, that’s actually not a bad thing. This makes it extremely stable for cooking.

Coconut oil contains 50% lauric acid. This fatty acid is antibacterial, antiviral, and antifungal. It lowers risk of heart disease by increasing good cholesterol and boosts the immune system. Lauric acid naturally occurs in human breast milk, but coconut is the only way to get it in your diet.

Coconut oil contains medium chain fats which can supply energy directly to the brain with no insulin spike. It’s this property that makes it a potential treatment for Alzheimer’s and other neurological disorders.

Butter is Better
Butter, like coconut oil, has gotten a bad rap but is actually a healthy fat. So trade in your faux butter spread for the real thing.

Butter contains all of the fat-soluble vitamins (vitamins D, E and K), and is a particularly good source of vitamin A. It’s rich in trace minerals and, if you buy grass-fed butter, is a good source of healthy omega-3 fatty acids.

But the real key to butter’s health benefits lies in its high butyrate content. Butyrate is a fatty acid that offers several health benefits. It’s very healing to the digestive tract. It reduces chronic inflammation. It counters neurodegenerative disorders like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s.

Butter can actually help you lose weight by improving insulin sensitivity and stabilizing blood sugar levels. Eating butter with carbohydrates (on bread or potatoes, for example) lowers the glycemic index preventing blood sugar spikes and keeping you full longer.

When butter comes from cows that graze on grass, it contains high levels of conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), a compound that protects against cancer, reduces inflammation, and makes it easier to burn fat and retain muscle mass.

It should be no surprise that the healthiest butter comes from the healthiest cows. Don’t expect ordinary grocery store butter to provide the same benefits as butter from grass-fed cows.

Your “New & Improved” Shopping List
Now that you know better, don’t be one of those people who gets 9% of calories from unhealthy vegetable oils! Here are four steps to take to transition from unhealthy to healthy oils.

Put extra virgin olive oil and organic coconut oil on your shopping list today! Do your homework and make sure your olive oil is the “real deal”. Then switch from whatever cooking oils you are using to these healthy oils.
Avoid any processed foods that say “hydrogenated” on the label.
Get rid of any fake fats like margarine and replace with butter. Be sure to get grass-fed butter to get the full health benefits.
Start reading labels on things like frozen potatoes, waffles, snacks, baked goods, prepared foods, and condiments. You’ll be dismayed by how many so-called “healthy” foods contain canola, soy, safflower, and sunflower oils. While you probably won’t be able to completely eliminate them from your diet, awareness if the first step towards minimizing them from your diet.

Mikel captains Chelsea, scores a scintillating goal

Super Eagles midfielder John Obi Mikel scored on his 300th appearance for Chelsea as they defeated Derby County 2-0 at the Pride Park Stadium in a third round English FA Cup game.

Mikel was given the captainship handband by Essien who was subtituted in the second half

After an unimpressive first half display, the Nigerian headed home from six yards off Willian’s whipped free-kick to break the deadlock in the 66th minutes of the with only his fourth Blues goal.

Mikel got the starter’s shirt despite Jose Mourinho’s changes to the squad that won Southampton 3-0 on New Year Day.

Even though it was another more prolific African Samuel Eto’o who was expected to deliver the goals for the Blues, Chelsea’s curtain raiser came off the boots of the unlikely Mikel.

Oscar then doubled Chelsea’s lead four minutes later with a powerful strike from the edge of the penalty area that Derby goalkeeper Lee Grant was unable to keep out.

Mikel had earlier broken his 261-game goal drought in the English Premier League in Chelsea’s 2-0 victory over Fulham at Stamford Bridge on September 21, 2013.

Chelsea will now face Stoke City in the fourth round of the oldest knock-out competition in English football history.

FA Cup: Swansea in, Manchester United out

Swansea secured their first ever victory at Old Trafford, knocking 10-man Manchester United out of the FA Cup with a 2-1 win.

Wayne Routledge opened the scoring just before the quarter hour mark before Javier Hernandez equalised minutes later. David Moyes was forced into a substitution late on as Rio Ferdinand suffered a knee injury – Fabio replacing the United captain.

But the Brazilian full-back lasted just a matter of minutes as he was shown a straight red card for a lunge on Jose Canas. Swansea could sense the win and were rewarded in the 90th minute as Wilfried Bony powered a header past Anders Lindgaard.

Pastor tries to walk on water and drowns in the process

In the last 24 hours, the story of a pastor’s failed attempt to walk on water has gone viral. Walking on water is not easy. Not too many people have the ability. Let’s see, there’s Jesus, and well, that’s about it. Unfortunately for one pastor on the West Coast of Africa, his attempt to become the second man to make this impossible feat a reality cost him his life.

Pastor Franck Kabele, 35, told his congregation that he was capable of reenacting the very miracles of Jesus Christ. He decided to make it clear through way of demonstration on Gabon’s beach in the capital city of Libreville.

Referencing Matthew 14:22-33, Kabele said that he received a revelation which told him that with enough faith he could achieve what Jesus was able to. According to an eyewitness, Kabele took his congregation out to the beach. He told them that he would cross the Kombo estuary by foot, which is normally a 20 minute boat ride.

Sadly by the second step into the water Kabele found himself completely submerged. He never returned. Despite the very real possibility that a person would attempt something like this and drown as a result, it appears that this story is likely a fake. This exact story first surfaced on the Internet back in 2006, and since then, it has popped up at various times.

Whether or not the story of Pastor Franck Kabele is fact or fiction remains to be seen, but the fact that it has gone viral seven years after its initial reporting is a testament to the overwhelming power of the Internet.

However…this story is real. At Ibadon zoo in south-west Nigeria, a self-proclaimed Prophet claimed to be able to do what the Daniel of the Bible did by walking into a den full of lions.

Though he was warned numerous times by zoo keepers, the Prophet thought of them as nothing more than enemies of progress. The Prophet, with a crowd of people watching, put on a long red robe and proceeded to enter the cage full of lions.

Within seconds of opening the door, the lions ripped the Prophet from flesh to bone. The Bible should come with a warning label, “Don’t try this at home.”

I once lived in an uncompleted building – Mercy Johnson

Mercy Johnson-Okojie made her way into Nollywood in the movie ‘The Maid’. In this interview with JOAN OMIONAWELE, the actress talked about marriage, controversies, acting, fashion and other issues.

What has Mercy Johnson been up to lately?
I have been busy shooting movies, moving from one location to the other. I give God all the glory.

You recently set up the Mercy Johnson Foundation. How far has it gone?
So far so good; it’s progressing. It’s been God all the way.

How many movies can you recollect doing so far?
Over 100 movies.

What were your days like as a  child?
I was a tomboy. I am the fourth child from a family of seven children. The first four are girls and the last three are boys. So, I actually moved a lot with my brothers, climbing trees and stuff like that. We didn’t get everything we wanted but we got everything we needed. I’m from a very humble background; a Christian family. My dad is an ex-military officer and we basically grew up in a military environment. I attended Navy primary and secondary schools until I went to the Lagos State University.

And how has it been through fame and glamour?
There have been the good and bad times; there have been rumours and scandals. Sometimes when I cry in movies, it isn’t the script that makes me cry. When I recall my humble beginning, I give thanks to God. When I remember how we moved into an uncompleted building and had to take cover whenever it rained because of the condition of the house; how my brother did a menial job as a bricklayer to earn a living and those days when we rolled over a stick to cover the windows up till the point when I started acting and raised money to cover the roof… I recall those days we were living with lizards because the floor and the walls of the house were not plastered, or when I had scars as a result of my several falls.

So how did you start acting?
After my secondary school education, I failed the University Matriculation Examination (UME) and came back to Lagos to get a degree. While that was on, I watched Genevieve Nnaji in a movie entitled: Sharon Stone. I later approached a friend for assistance to feature in a movie. He said I had a great body and that I would make a good actress. He later took me to the National Theatre, but a role did not come until a year later, when I had my first lead role in a film entitled: The Maid. The Maid was my starting point and it was quite challenging to play the lead role because it was my first movie. I was fidgeting when I saw the likes of Eucharia Anunobi, whom I regarded as a screen goddess during my secondary school days. I never thought I would make it with people like that. So, when I saw her, I was so excited and considered standing beside her as sacred. She actually realised that and later helped me by giving me the needed courage.

What is that accessory that you can never be caught wearing?
A nose ring.

What has marriage changed about you?
Marriage has taught me lots of things and I’ve learnt a lot since I got married too. I know that if I had gotten married earlier, I wouldn’t have made most of the errors I made. It’s good to be married to somebody who is so organised; he brings you up the right way and reminds you of whom you’re supposed to be.

You seem to be enjoying marriage a lot.  You even once said that as soon as Purity (her daughter) clocks one, you would be going back to the labour room …
My sister, marriage has been sweet for me because I have the best husband and daughter in the world. Being a married woman, I have learnt to tolerate things more. It has changed my perspective of life and the way I react to things.

But getting married and being an actress are two different things. How do you balance up?
When I’m not at location, I spend quality time with my family. And guess what? My husband has always been there for me and Purity. It’s obvious we are his priority. He’s a loving husband and father.

Your husband does not complain about those times when you are away?
He doesn’t; he understands the nature of my job. He’s the best thing that has happened to me. People usually say men are not reliable. In the case of my husband, he’s a blessing.

What was the point of attraction between you and Mr Okojie?
What attracted him to me was his fearless approach. You know sometimes, you meet some guys and they get intimidated about you, but not with him. The first time we were supposed to have a date, he said ‘Let’s go to my house so you can cook for me’ and in my mind, I was like “Seriously, this guy doesn’t know my name.” So, I said “My name is Mercy Johnson” and he said ‘Yes I know.’

Taking your child to movie sets can really be demanding and stressful. Does Purity not disturb you when you are on set?
No, she doesn’t. When I take her on location, she has lots of uncles and aunties who dote on her. They carry her, feed her and many more. Sometimes, I don’t even get to see her until she needs to breastfeed.

How has motherhood changed your perspective about life?
It has changed me just the way it changes women. You begin to see yourself as a co-creator. You begin to see yourself as a protector. It will also make you feel more responsible for other children as well. You begin to see them as children of some other mothers. You have a sense of responsibility to want to protect them as well.

If he tells you to quit acting one day, would you give it a thought?
When we get to that bridge, we will cross it.

How do you pamper yourself?
I have fun with my family.

As a dutiful wife, how do you pamper your husband?
Sometimes I take him out on a date, surprise him with gifts and so on.

As a married woman, does he complain about your romantic scenes in movies?
No he doesn’t. He understands the nature of my job and he knows that acting is just make-believe.

There was an issue with you and Tonto Dike recently. She dissed you on Twitter for saying you would go back to the labour room immediately Purity was mature enough. Why didn’t you reply her?
I’d rather not talk about it.

What does style mean to you?
Style to me is putting on anything that makes you feel comfortable. My husband is a huge critic, so when he compliments my dressing, I feel so good. He doesn’t believe that exposing anything makes you look better. He feels when you cover up, you look real nice.

What is that accessory that you continuously fill your wardrobe with?
That will be my wrist-watches.

And how many of it (your favourite accessory) would you say you have?
Close to 10.

In a few years to come, what would you love to be remembered for?
I would like to be remembered as someone who accomplished useful deeds. I would like to leave with the memory of someone with a good heart, who did her best to help others.

There is a very strong competition among actresses. How have you managed to maintain your position as one of the most popular?
I would have to give all glory to God how far He has helped me. I have tried as much as possible to give my best to the industry and I cannot say that I have arrived, but it is obvious that I am not where I used to be. I will continue to do more.

It doesn’t look like you would go back to putting on those sexy clothes again after you wean Purity. Or would you?
No I don’t plan to. Motherhood and marriage have changed me. I am over that because I am now a married woman, a mother at that.

What has been the most negative report that you have read about yourself?
A lot of untrue things have been said about me, but I have come to realise that it doesn’t cost people anything to cook up lies about me. The one I remember vividly is the one they said I stole money and also snatched people’s husbands. I lost a deal worth N50 million from a telecommunication company because of that.

It was reported that you were banned for increasing your pay as an actress.
There was no ban at all.

You promptly responded to OJB’s cry for help and gave him some money. People said it was publicity stunt, while others said it was just your character…
I don’t need to be more popular because I am already popular. We were just promoting the ideals of Mercy Johnson Foundation. The idea is to identify the needs, evaluate and help in our own little way. All fingers are not equal. Those in position to help should do so without hesitation. I strongly believe that as stars we should live beyond the euphoria of stardom and the moment. We will not always be here. What happens if you look back and realise you could have done a lot to make the world better when you had the spotlight and you didn’t? I want to live beyond the moment. [Tribune]

Rooney and Van Persie will miss Man United FA tie against Swansea City

Manchester United will be without strikers Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie for today’s FA Cup third-round tie with Swansea. Rooney (groin) and Van Persie (thigh) are both injured, as is winger Ashley Young (shoulder).

Swansea winger Pablo Hernandez is likely to miss out after suffering a hamstring injury. Leon Britton is a doubt though illness and Michu, Michel Vorm and Nathan Dyer are all definitely out.

Rooney missed the trip to Norwich on 28 December with a groin problem but returned for the New Year’s Day loss to Tottenham. However on Friday he was pictured leaving a private hospital in Manchester.

“He has got a groin injury and won’t be available on Sunday,” Red Devils manager David Moyes said. “He’s got a chance (of facing Sunderland on Tuesday).”

Liverpool plays fellow northwest team Oldham for the third straight season in the FA Cup as Bolton and Blackpool renew their rivalry in the competition.

Pope Francis calls for new approach to kids of gay, divorced parents

AFP – Pope Francis has called for a rethink in the way the Catholic Church deals with the children of gay couples and divorced parents, warning against “administering a vaccine against faith”.

“On an educational level, gay unions raise challenges for us today which for us are sometimes difficult to understand,” Francis said in a speech to the Catholic Union of Superiors General in November, extracts of which were published on Italian media websites on Saturday.

“The number of children in schools whose parents have separated is very high,” he said, adding that family make-ups were also changing.

“I remember a case in which a sad little girl confessed to her teacher: ‘my mother’s girlfriend doesn’t love me’,” he was quoted as saying.

The pontiff said educational leaders should ask themselves “how can we proclaim Christ to a generation that is changing?”

“We must be careful not to administer a vaccine against faith to them,” the 77-year-old added.

Though the Church has often been in conflict with the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community over its opposition to same-sex marriage and to homosexuality, Francis has drawn praise for attempts to be inclusive.

In July he reached out to gays, declaring that “if someone is gay and seeks the Lord with good will, who am I to judge?”

And in December, the Advocate magazine — dedicated to the gay and lesbian community — chose the head of the Catholic Church as the “single most influential person of 2013 on the lives of LGBT people.”

The reform-minded pontiff has also called an extraordinary assembly of the Synod of Bishops next year to discuss the Church’s position with regard to the family, which is expected to address among other issues the problem of divorcees remarrying and children of divorced parents.

Jose Mourinho rules out Chelsea exit for Mata

Jose Mourinho has insisted Juan Mata will not be leaving Chelsea during January, revealing the club have received no offers for the midfielder.

The Portuguese refused to rule out an exit for the Spain international on Thursday, telling the player his “door is open” if he is seeking a move away from Stamford Bridge.

Speculation increased following Mata’s angry reaction to being substituted against Southampton, and Mourinho says such tactical decisions “hurt” him and only wants the best for the player.

“If people think they can get our good players on sale, sales [have] finished in London,” Mourinho told reporters. “I keep saying that I want him to stay. There [are no] offers. We have no offers.”

“I try to do my job forgetting I’m a soft heart, pretending that I’m a hard heart. Many times it hurts me, not just with him, with decisions I have to make.

“But I think to do my job in the best way … thinking the team [is] more important than any player. When I have to make a decision I always analyse the situation and try to make the best decision for the team … putting the person secondary.

“It hurts me. He’s a good kid, he works hard, not an easy situation for him not to be playing every time. He started nine matches in the Premier League, had lots of minutes on the pitch. I love it if he does well. That’s what I want.”

Reasons why Obasanjo is against Jonathan: “you may not survive this” – Obasanjo Tells Jonathan

While the country [Nigeria] grapple with the oily grips from the quibble between a political godfather and a political godson, little is made of the actual behind the scene factors that led to the crack in the formerly rosy relationship. Information available to 247ureports.com through sources close to the principal actors within the warring camps reveal what appears an unspoken truth – that dates back to the fall of Biafra to the Nigeria troops led by the then Olusegun Aremu Obasanjo in Owerri, the then capital of the federal republic of Biafra.

According to the consortium of sources who spoke on the true causative factors responsible for the turn in demeanor in the former People Democratic Party [PDP] godfather, General Olusegun Obasanjo towards President Jonathan, indicate that the chief reason for the effort to halt Jonathan’s presidency before 2015 points to the formerly agreed upon policy towards the former eastern region – which later became the Biafra territory – that then lost the war the Nigerian troops.

According to a competent source, the self – acclaimed victors of the Nigerian civil war, the likes of Buhari, Babangida, Obasanjo, Gowon, Murtala Mohammed and company – had an agreed upon policy of under-development of the region – to aide sedated the urge for another agitation group to find its footing. The policy was particularized for the south east zone.

Such policies focused on denying the region of an international airport, ability to source crude oil and refine, ability to access international trade and technology – among other sensitive developmental vectors. Through the successive government that followed after the military fall of the Biafra effort, the policy was implemented without error. Obasanjo’s regime during the civilian era ensured that the marginalization policy remained unchanged.

The talk of locating an international airport at each geopolitical zone in Nigeria saw a defiant Obasanjo when the discourse included South East region. The Obasanjo regime also saw the placement of an oil refinery in the South East as going against the agreed upon policy of the winners of the Nigeria/Biafra war. The exploration of crude oil deposits around the Kogi/Enugu/Anambra belt remained abandoned during his regime.

The surprise and uncharacteristic coming of Dr. Goodluck Ebelemi Jonathan to the presidential seat brought an anomaly into the equation. The said owners of the country did not expect what his presidency may result to – as per the agreed upon policy towards the south east region. Obasanjo had promised his “co-owners” that he would be able to “control” the excesses of President Jonathan – “that Goodluck was his boy” and will be held with a short leash. Obasanjo’s northern partners were able to rest their nerves in that President Jonathan will serve a mere one term and that by 2015, he will step  down from the mantle of leadership and allowed for the owners of Nigeria to continue along the path already set out by General Gowon.

A source close to Obasanjo told 247ureports.com that the former head of state had stated in serious discussions that Jonathan chances putting Nigeria at risk over his conversion of Enugu Airport to International Airport because of the history of the area. He also mentioned the opening of the Orient Petroleum oil drilling and refining services as near treasonable – because it allows the region access to precious cash commodity [as crude oil] should the region chose to declare independence from the Nigerian Union again. The source pointed out that Obasanjo sees himself as a defender of the present day Nigeria dating from post Nigerian civil war. The sources continues that Obasanjo sees himself as responsible for ensuring that the country stays together as one unit. In his mind, the eagerness of the Jonathan presidency to ease the tariff placed against the former Biafran region points to a dangerous precedence that may be copied by other leaders – if not checkmated.

The recent open letter to the President of the federal republic of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck E. Jonathan by the former president, General Olusegun Obasanjo is believed by our source to be part of the program to halt the trend of easing the economic blockade against the south east and south south region. One of the principal fears – according to the source – concerns the upcoming national census exercise scheduled for 2016. The recent public utterances by the former top boss of the national population commission, Odumegwu, stating that the previous census figures were either wrong or falsified, exacerbated the fear harbored by the self-proclaimed owners of the country. It lead to the likes of Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso into issuing threats to the President charging that he sack the census commission boss – or face the consequences. President Jonathan bowed and unceremoniously sacked Odumegwu.

But Jonathan’s body language of wanting to continue his leadership past 2015 has the former president and one-time coup-plotter unsettled. Both President Jonathan and Obasanjo are reported to have met severally behind closed doors over the upcoming 2015 elections – with Obasanjo impressing on Jonathan that his desire to contest will throw the country into bloody revolution. At a recent secret meeting in Abuja [not Aso Villa], the two were said to have met at a home belonging to a high personality in Asokoro – where Obasanjo continued to remind President Jonathan that he will be embarking on a potentially catastrophic mistake should he continue to be adamant about the 2015 venture. Some of Obasanjo’s northern partners were reported to be present at the meeting – when President Jonathan responded that a truly democratic Nigeria must not be allowed to degenerate to bloody chaos over constitutional rights and freedoms. The President was reported to have made it categorically clear that Nigeria remains a free democratic society for every citizen regardless of which geopolitical zone one originates “justice must fear no evil” – to which Obasanjo retorted, “You may not survive this”.

So get this: When you run, the twins do, too—in a sort of figure-eight shape. And they can travel up to eight inches, according to research out of the U.K. All the more reason to wear a supportive sports bra!

7. They Can Also Be Crazy-Large
The current Guinness World Record for “largest natural breasts” was awarded in 1999 to a woman whose chest measured 70 inches around its fullest part. That’s 5.83 feet!

8. The Twins Aren’t Always Identical
In fact, one breast is usually about a fifth of a cup size larger than the other, on average, according to the book Breasts: A Natural and Unnatural History by Florence Williams.

9. Breast Augmentation Is (Still) in High Demand
It was the top cosmetic surgical procedure in 2012, according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. About 286,000 patients had their breasts done last year—although that’s down seven percent from 2011.

10. The Bra As You Know It Is Pretty New
Mary Phelps Jacob received a patent for the “backless brassiere” in 1914, but Ida Rosenthal and her husband William, founders of Maidenform, created the bra with its current sizing standards in the 1920s.

Will Jose Mourinho sells David Luiz for £35million? I just hope he doesn't

Premier League outfit Chelsea have put a £35million price-tag on defender David Luiz's head, amid interest from FC Barcelona and Bayern Munich.

The two European giants have been interested in the Brazilian since the Summer, but at the time, the defender had no intentions of leaving the club.

However, now in January and frequently being rotated, it is believed that Luiz may be willing to leave Stamford Bridge in order to play regular first-team football, and it is thought that it would take £35million to sign the Brazilian centre-back, who signed for Chelsea from Benfica for around £26million.

Despite putting an asking price on his head, it is thought that Jose Mourinho does want to keep Luiz at the club, but he will still accept offers that come in for him as long as it meets their expectations and value.

MTO Claims Khloe Kardashian is pregnant

MediaTakeOut.com just got wind of what looks to be the first major gossip scoop of 2014 . . . we learned that Khloe Kardashian is pregnant. That's not rumor y'all either . . . it's facts!!

We're told that Khloe announced her pregnancy and asked the entire family to keep the news quiet. Khloe's momanger Kris is working on the proper time and place to make the announcement.

Oh, and the father . . .well we're told that Khloe is "pretty sure" its Lamar's. But there is an outside possibility it's Matt Kemp's. But if we know the Kardashians like we do, they'll prolly spin it into a Maury episode. LOL.

Anyways, when news breaks elsewhere don't forget where you heard it first!!!

Group moves to rename 'Nollywood' as 'Naiwood'

Just in case you haven't heard, a group of members of the Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners (ANTP), led by Yomi Fabiyi, is moving to change the name for Nigeria's movie industry from Nollywood to 'Naiwood'.

Cos, according to them:

The name Nollywood is stained with Tribalism. Nollywood @ 20 was organized and  celebrated with the support of just 1 association out of the many in the movie industry.

Speaking with entertainment reporters, Yomi said:

At the inception of the name Nollywood, we all embraced it with open arms without even probing the source. As time went by, few flashes of some ill motives surfaced. See! If this Nollywood thing continues or let me say the agenda behind it, Nigeria may begin to spilt from there. Too many tribalism.

Journalists that have been reporting or writing about movies in Nigeria some 30yrs and above will wonder what Nollywood stands for and why 20 years. We inherited film making, we had legendary filmmakers in Nigeria before then.

In an unjust society where inequality, tribalism, sentiment is the order of the day, SILENCE IS A SIN. We wish to set the record straight, film making started in Nigeria 70 years ago.

Nollywood name is not a unifying factor. We can't fold our arms and watch them sweep under the carpet the effort of our veterans with an acronym (Nollywood).

That acronym NOLLYWOOD is not acceptable by us, if it represents 20 years.

NAIJA (Nigeria) is a film, football and oil country. Nigerian movie industry - NAIWOOD, is the right name for the right naija film history.

The change is already in the pipeline and no matter how long it takes, the genuine vanguards will not stop.
It's not a fight against an individual or group of people. We are fighting against injustice to history and heritage.

We the Progressives in ANTP of the movie industry, irrespective of tribe and religion, wish to be referred with that acronym henceforth, and we mean every word of it.

Other villagers that also spoke to Vanguard, said ifeoma was a very promising young lady but none could guess she would die untimely.

Although Vanguard could not ascertain the cause of death at press time, as no member of the immediate family could be reached for comments.
